Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced

  • Lemon juice/ lemon

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/3 & 1 tbsp caster sugar

  • 1/3 cup plain/wholemeal flour

  • 1/3 cup oats

  • 60g butter (chopped)

  • Cream or ice cream to serve (optional)

Methods:

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/ 160C fan forced. Combine apples, lemon juice, 1 tbsp sugar and water in small saucepan over low-medium heat. Cook, stirring for 3 minutes or until apple is slightly softened.

  2. In a separate bowl combine the flour, sugar, oats and butter. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

  3. Transfer apple mixture into a oven proof dish. Sprinkle crumble mixture over the apple mixture. Bake in over for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. Serve with dollop cream or ice cream (optional)
